Summary
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Online Safety Program Manager to spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive online safety initiatives for our platform. You’ll play a vital role in protecting our users, particularly children and vulnerable populations, from online harm. This position requires a strategic mindset, deep knowledge of online risks, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Strategy and Development: Design and implement a comprehensive online safety program that aligns with our company’s mission, values, and current risk landscape. Set strategic goals and KPIs to measure the impact of the program.
- Policy Development and Enforcement: Create and maintain clear online safety policies, community guidelines, and content moderation standards. Collaborate with legal and policy teams to ensure policies are updated with changing legislation and best practices.
- Educational Initiatives: Develop and execute educational resources and campaigns to raise awareness of online safety issues (e.g., cyberbullying, harmful content, online predators) tailored for users, parents, and educators.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential online safety risks. Implement mitigation strategies including technology solutions, user reporting systems, and partnerships with external safety organizations.
- Incident Response and Crisis Management: Establish and manage processes for responding to online safety incidents, including escalation procedures and collaboration with crisis management teams.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze user data and feedback to identify trends and patterns related to online safety. Generate reports to track program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- External Partnerships and Collaboration: Build strategic partnerships with non-profits, law enforcement, child advocacy groups, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance online safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, education, public policy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of [5+] years of experience in online safety, child protection, or a closely related field.
- Deep understanding of online safety risks, including cyberbullying, harassment, child exploitation, privacy, and disinformation.
- Experience in program development, strategic planning, and project management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and best practices relating to online safety and child protection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise with content moderation tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience in public speaking and delivering training programs.
